The benefits of exercise are countless! I have summarized the top 6 benefits of exercising on a regular basis:

Improves your mood. Have you heard the phrase: You are one exercise away from a good mood? Well it is 100% correct!.  Exercise causes the body to produce endorphins.  These are chemicals that can help you feel more peaceful and happy.  As a result you will also cut your stress.

It can help you sleep better. Regular exercise can help the quality of your sleep.  You will have more energy and less sleepiness during the day.  But make sure to complete your workout at least a few hours before bedtime.

Helps you stay healthier. Exercising can help you support a healthy weight and decrease your risk of developing certain diseases.  Studies have found that certain exercise like strength training will keep your bones strong.

Boosts energy.  Exercising delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lungs work more efficiently you have more energy! Just a few minutes a day of exercise can really transform how you feel and how much energy you have in your day.

It improves learning.  Memory retention and learning functions are all about brain cells actually changing, growing, and working better together.  Exercise increases the level of brain chemicals called growth factors that help make new brain cells and set up new connections between brain cells to help us learn.

Can improve your self-esteem and body image. Physical activity is related to positive mental health.  When you exercise you feel good about yourself and this can help you support a healthy weight. “Look better, feel better”

Most adults need at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least five days per week. Exercising on a regular basis is a critical part of staying healthy. You will live longer and feel better.  The key is to find the right exercise for you. It should not be a chore!
